Welcome New High School Summer Intern!

Hi, my name is Tanvi Bavisetty and I am a Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families, high school intern! I am interested in pursuing a major in medicine and a minor in business. You might be wondering, how did you get an internship from Nationwide Children’s? Well, the answer is simpler than you may think. The first step I did was reaching out to my high school guidance counselor whom then recommended this internship. Once I reviewed all the information on the flyer, I decided to apply. Out of hundreds of applicants, about 60 to 70 got chosen to work in several departments of NCH’s.

Tanvi B. – 2022 HNHF High School Intern

This is my first week and I was assigned to help out in the Foundation Department. This department does a lot of work with public relations, connecting donors with departments who need philanthropic funding for research, and definitely so much more than I could talk about on this blog! I’ve had a fun time so far and have made a lot of connections, even to the main campus hospital.

This internship is available with two sessions, and it’s up to you to decide if you would like to do one or two. I am doing one, but if you are doing two, you can immerse yourself in two different departments. So if you’re interested in business and medicine, like me, you can understand the work life of both careers. Although there are many departments, we are one big family at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and we have a one team culture that is upheld. Interested in being a part of this culture but your only in high school?
