Thank You, BuckeyeThon!

This past weekend, the Ohio State community came together in celebration of a year’s worth of fundraising, awareness spreading and believing Every Kid Deserves to Be a Buckeye. With all participants being called Team Members, this allowed the entire Ohio State community to feel they, too, are truly apart of the movement. Team Members kicked off the year by running in the annual Miracle Miles 5K in August. They watched as their fellow classmates and wonderful BuckeyeThon Kids strutted down the runway at the Fashion Show in November. They fundraised all year long and recruited other Team Members into the cause. On February 10th, thousands of Ohio State students, faculty and staff filled the ballroom to begin the 2017 Dance Marathon.

The Ohio State community through BuckeyeThon came together to raise over $1.5 MM for Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

At the 2017 Final Reveal on the night of February 11th, Ohio State revealed how much was raised this year. $1,510,036.39 For The Kids.  The funds raised will go to the Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant floor of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This money will completely cover the cost of the psychosocial programming provided to each patient of the floor. The money also will fund the endowment of two fellowships (Sarcoma and Bone Marrow Transplant) to train the next generation of physicians treating the kids battling pediatric cancer.Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to The Ohio State University community, BuckeyeThon and the thousands of supporters, donors, Team Members and believers that Every Kid Deserves to be a Buckeye.

Thank you, BuckeyeThon! #OSUForTheKids
