National Mental Health Awareness Month

National Mental Health Awareness Month

Thanks to a transformational $50 million dollar gift, Nationwide Children’s Hospital will build America’s largest behavioral health treatment and research center just for children and adolescents.  Fifty percent of lifetime and mental illnesses happen before a child turns 14.  Let’s start the conversation with our kids and begin to breakdown the behavioral health barriers that continue to plaque children and adults alike.

The Big Lots Behavioral Health Pavilion is expected to open in 2020.  This world-class pavilion will have some top notch features that will transform the lives of many children and adolescents.  Some of the new features include:

  • A total of 9 stories
  • 48 inpatient beds, with capacity for more in the future
  • 16 bed Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit
  • 10 bed Psychiatric Crisis Center
  • Family Resource Center
  • Rooftop Outdoor Play Area
