Healthy Neighborhoods, Healthy Families, & Hive Starter Packs

Where you live.

How safe your neighborhood is.

Educational opportunities.

Healthcare accessibility.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital recognizes all of these factors impact a community’s overall health. That’s why the Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families initiative began back in 2008. This initiative seeks to create positive health outcomes in the community. The focus is on revitalizing Columbus’ South side, the area around the hospital, to support the health and well-being of the children and families in that area.

The goal is to create a healthier home for those families so they can live better lives with fewer trips to the emergency room. A big part of that goal is to create safer and more affordable homes for these families.

Direct Energy was a big part of helping this initiative this year with the donation of their Hive Starter packs for these revitalized homes. Thank you, Direct Energy, for your donation and for raising additional funds for local children’s hospitals. With your help, Nationwide Children’s is keeping kids healthy and out of the hospital, while still providing life-saving care and research when they are in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
